Lets not mess around here guys. I really bloody well like this stuff. Honestly. It's pretty wicked.
I'm a bit funny with face masks. Some of them seem to actually make my skin worse. I'm no expert and I'm sure some people would tell me that if I use a mask and I get a break out afterwards it's because the mask has drawn all the impurities to the surface or some shit like that... and yeah... maybe they are right... but guess what?! I DON'T WANNA USE A MASK AND END UP WITH MORE SPOTS THAN I HAD BEFORE DAMMIT! Ha! Sorry! It's just that usually I end up using masks when I'm trying to get my skin to behave because it's really throwing a tantrum and if I slap one on and am greeted with a face full of extra pimples come morning I'm not going to be best pleased am I?
It's probably on me really. My bad. I don't use them as often as I should. However, I'd also say there have definitely been some that I've used and just haven't got on with at all. Sensitive skin is such fun eh? Thankfully this bad boy from Una Brennan seems to be a different story.
This mask is refreshing, cleansing and calming. There's no stinging, no warming, nothing that makes me feel slightly iffy about it being on my mug. You just pop it on for 10 minutes, the thick but easily spreadable pale green clay will dry but not crack, and then rinse off with warm water and a clean flannel. Just a note from my own experience - as the mask does harden I rest a warm flannel against areas of my face to soften it again before then using light circular motions to wash it off so I'm not dragging my skin all over the shop or scrubbing at it too hard.
After use I feel like my skin is a little plumper, definitely softer, and that my blemishes have been reduced slightly. Like it's taken some of the anger out of them or something. Ha. I really do think it helps my skin on the whole and try and use it twice a week.
Also it smells pretty damn good for a face mask. Especially a clay face mask, which can sometimes be real pungent! It smells relaxing. That makes no sense. I just cant think how else to describe it. It's a fresh and clean but also kind of soothing scent. Nice.
It's not overly pricey normally at around £8.99 but Boots often seem to have it on sale for £5.99 so I just grab a couple when the offer is on.
So there we go. A cupboard staple of mine suitable (or so it would seem) for sensitive skins that won't break the bank.
Later's on the Men-Jays. xxx
