The Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pots have been on my radar for a while. I'd heard good things, real good things, and them good things I dun' heard, well they be justified my loves...
*DISCLAIMER* I'm feeling somewhat sleep deprived after a hectic couple of weeks so this post may be even more outrageously ridiculously written than usual.
Righty Ho. So. The Paint Pot. I picked this little guy up when I had my make up done in the Covent Garden store for an event, you can claim the price of the makeover back against the products. Pretty wicked right? Honestly if you're going to be purchasing a couple of items from Mac anyway then book in and have your face funked up by a professional before your next night out / wedding / event. Might as well eh? It's essentially being tarted up for free if you were already planning on spending yo' hard earned shizzle. BONUS.
Aaaaaanyway. It's good!!! Really good! Let me tell you why...
I've got the shade 'Painterly'. A kind of slightly warm, dusky, pinky sort of nude. That make sense? It's essentially a cream eye shadow that when applied results in a lovely even, soft matte texture. Freakin' fabulous to use as a base for other eyeshadows as it's neutral and lasts all the damn day without creasing (I reckon it'd be wicked for sorting out oily lids too!). As a base it acts as a sort of primer, making powder shadows easier to blend etc. I whack this stuff on after I've done my foundation and my brows, then go in with an eyeliner and whatever shadow combo I'm using. Other days I'll leave it to stand alone and just pop some mascara on my peepers. It's a great nude as is, and being a cream you get a great colour pay off that sticks around from morning coffee to evening G&T.
In fact, days when I'm not putting any make up on at all I'll still sometimes smudge a bit of Painterly across my lid just to brighten my eyes a bit and even out the colouring up there above my eyezballz.
Now, these fuckers are pricey... £15.50. YIKES. Buuuutttt (does any one else ever get the urge to write bottom, arse, bum or derrière instead of but? no... just me?) I'm certain this little 5g pot is going to last me fookin' aaaaaages as you only need a tiny smidge for each application.
The only thing I will say on a possible negative side of things is that I'll be interested to see if it dries up at all over the course of the year. I've had this happen to me with the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, really annoying. Fingers crossed we stay sexy and moist though eh? ... MOIST... eeeewwww.
SQUIDGES AND SMOOCHES. *BARF* xxx
